The earlier promised sunny day finally arrived today. I arrived back at Hohenraden by bus. Upon passing through a number of fields I arrived at the forest Rantzau. This beech forest with hardly any undergrowth allowed wide views. The path was well marked by the white cross until the place were E1a (The alternative path between Schleswig via St. Michaelisdonn and Voßloch and together with E9 to Hamburg -Blankenese.) separates from E9. Mostly I could walk on sandy paths or the centre grass between two concrete lanes. As long as there have been not to many horses destroying the grass it was easy to walk. The forest Rantzau is split into several segments is crossed again and again. This is true of the first part of the Krückau hiking path too. Upon passing under the motorway and a short detour the path follows the river Krückau until arriving at Elmshorn. I went home by train after a nice walking day.

Here E1a and E9 are separating. E9 is marked as path Krückau Wanderweg until reaching Elmshorn (even so there is nothing to be seen of river Krückau for long stretches)
