I
continued along the cobble stone road from yesterday into Großendorf / Chlapowo
in the morning. With help of the map I found the way towards the Fishermens
House. The building gave me cover during a heavy down pour. Shortly thereafter I
arrived at the road to Hela. Separate from the road there was a foot and bridle
path. Soon the path crossed the road as well as the railway tracks to continue
as gravel path to Ziegenhagen / Chalupy and Kußfeld / Kuznica. The peninsula
Hela is rather narrow. Soon I preferred the beach over the very soft
sandy forest path. I had lunch at a fish restaurant at Kußfeld / Kuznica with a
nice view across the Putziger Bucht / Bay of Puck towards town of Putzig / Puck.
After lunch I continued along the sandy forest path passing through Heisternest / Jastarnia to Jurata. The path has only very few low grades. The marked path ends at the railway station. When leaving Jurata I passed the former gate of the road to Hela / Hel, a place I recognised from a visit in 1979. Then this was a closed military area all the way until Hela / Hel. Some parts are still closed. To get to Hela / Hel I had to walk along the paved pedestrian and bridle path near the road. The only alternation was the Hotel Albatross and crossing the former military narrow gauge railway tracks. Shortly before reaching Hela the railway was crossed. Soon the railway station and the town come into sight. I got a room for the night in Hela / Hel.
