I took the bus 112 to reach the Vistula ferry at Schiewenhorst / Swibno in the morning. The bus passes by the industrial areas east of Danzig / Gdansk. Most visible is the huge refinery. In Bohnsack / Sobieszewo the bus crosses the river Vistula on a pontoon bridge very slowly. Thereafter it's straight ahead until reaching the bank of the main Vistula outlet. Here the bus turns south to follow the river bank. The Vistula ferry is waiting for pedestrians coming with the hourly running bus. I was the only one. The ferry is connected to both banks by a steel cable and pulled along across the river Vistula by a small launch. Besides me only a cyclist wanted to get across. Arriving in Nickelswalde / Mikoszewo I was welcomed by a huge map of Stegen / Stegna. I followed the main road to get to the station in Nickelswalde / Mikoszewo. The railway is run by Żuławska Kolej Dojazdowa and is only active during the summer holiday season. I was too late in the year. The railway runs vie Stegen / Stegna to Stutthof / Szutowo and south to Tiegenhof / Nowy Dwor Gdanski were it is connected to the Polish state railway. After leaving the station I walked in Nickelswalde / Mikoszewo towards the Baltic Sea.

On the way I reached the path which leads through pine forests towards Pasewalk / Jantar. Here I went to the beach. Here I found a number of small amber pieces. The big water slide in Stegen / Stegna was mostly dismantled. Near the beach a centre with restaurants and tourist shops was recently build. In line with all the places along the coast including the Vistula Spit Stegen / Stegna was build well covered from the sea behind a pine forest. After visiting Stegen / Stegna including the nice old church I continued along the beach to reach the fishing boats of Bodenwinkel / Katy Rybackie. Here I left the beach and walked into the town thereby crossing the E9. I found a room for the night. In the evening I walked to the harbour of the Vistula Lagoon and the agricultural areas of the Vistula Delta near Kobbelkampe / Kobyla Kepa.
