The Vistula Spit begins at Bodenwinkel / Katy Rybackie. I returned back to the Baltic Sea thereby crossing the marked path. The path continues to Kahlberg / Krynica Morska passing through forest and along the Vistula Lagoon shore. Following the lonely beach I arrived at Kahlberg / Krynica Morska. Due to many newly build houses it has reached the Baltic Sea coast. During the summer seasons boats ply the Vistula Lagoon going to Elbing / Elblag and Frauenburg / Frombork. From the light tower I had great views across the Lagoon to Frauenburg / Framborg. After lunch I continued along the beach to reach the last village before arriving at the Polish / Russian border. I went on to see the EU border with Russia about 5 km beyond Neukrug / Piaski. A fence blocks the beach. I followed it across the Vistula Spit until reaching a sandy road. This was the road leading further north all the way until Pillau / Baltisk. A large signpost in Polish and English warns from crossing the border. Following the sand road I went into Neukrug / Piaski to find a room for the night.
