I spent the night outside of Åre in the small community Så inside a tiny cabin at Are Camping. It was tiny but it had heating allowing me to dry out my things. From there I continued along the main road in the morning. At Undersåker I could turn off walking into Vålådalen. Shortly after turning off I came by a small bakery. Here I bought a oven fresh cinnamon roll. It was very tasty! I continued along the paved road until finally arriving at Vålådalans Fjällstation. Somewhere along the road I met Torkel Ideström, the organizer of Gröna Bandet. We talked for a while. The Fjällstation has a well equipped store.
When leaving the station I was back on hiking trails. It slowly started getting dry while the trail was still relatively wet but despite well to hike. The highlight became fording a river just past Vålådalstugan. I had to get across river Härjång. I was joined by other hikers fording. The river was quite deep and running fast. It took a bit of time to find a good place to cross. Soon after crossing I had hiked myself warm again.
Having forded the last river I moved on to Helags Fjällstation. From far away I could see the glacier Helags. I got a bunk at the Fjällstation and could join dinner. They had a very good warm buffet. One of the STF staff I had seen at one of the huts up north at one of the huts along Kungsleden. How small the world is.
