So far my hinking in Norway was fully acceptable. By now I was used to not having any developed trail but rather markings and most of the time acceptable to good trails trampeled by hikers. Sure there where rocky parts but they were most of the time hikeable. Today I got my first taste of what has nothing to do with hiking and everything with rock climbing. It started of nice with some sunshine. I walked through an area with horses that where grazing in the forest near by the trail.
The trail follows the slope of Mountain Sikkisdalshornet along Lakes Nedre and Øvre Sikkisdalsvatnet. And than the trail ends. Ahead was a rockslide. There where only markings across. To get across this section more than once required using my hands. Every step had to be carefully planned. This definitely had nothing to do with hiking and should never be called a trail. I needed for a bit over 500 m about 1.5 hours. And there is no way around these rocks.
Once I had finished this hurdle I could continue walking a trail. Later I met another herd of horses. The last part to DNT Gjendesheim follows a road. I staid here for the night. Before dinner I booked a boatride for tomorrow. I had to wait for a ride after 10 am as everything earlier was booked out.
