Until last year I would have to go back the crazy decline I had survived yesterday. The trail had gone to the West around Lake Rembesdalsvatnet. Since this year it is routed around the east side of the Lake. The outlet from Glacier Rembesdalskåka could be crossed on a new bridge which had not been possible in the past. So I started along the slope of Mountain Luraskor to hike to the new bridge. It was very slow progressing. The trail constantly goes up and down the slope of the mountain through partly moss covered rock fields. This included a lot of climbing. I had planned to arrive at the hut at Liseth. Well, a plan is a plan and not reality. I only arrived at the bridge at lunch time. Far too late to make it.

 

Once I had crossed the bridge the climbing really started. The trail now went up to Mountain Modnuten. With a constant drizzle I had to walk up along wet rocky ridges. This was really slow moving and dangerous. Slipping on these rock ledges could easily result in falling down quite a bit. Later it got luckily dry. On the way up I had some good views of the glacier. However this was a poor consolation for this "trail". Late in the evening I arrived at the point where my trail met up with the old trail. Soon after I stopped by a small lake by the trail. I set up my tent and picked up water from the lake. No sooner I was back in my tent it started raining. So far this was by far the worst day of this years hike. It can only get better tomorrow.
