This was a nice warm sunny day with an acceptable trail. Some parts where rather rocky but it was ok. It started out in a forest before I ascended towards the head waters of River Gaukstølåa. From Kroksvastølen, now a place with a couple of vacation homes, the trail followed an old cattle trail which has follen out off maintenance. It was partly easy to walk, partly a bit more difficult. Finally I arrived at the gravel road Vetrhusvegen. This road let after a while to a short trail to DNT Jonstølen. This is a very modern hut; not at all in typical Norwegian design. A group of older hikers arrived for a short stay before returning to the road.
